(CON) The 9 engravings are inserted into the gatherings; the first a leaf before the title page and not facing as usual for a frontispiece, the following 6 at the beginning of each book of the task, the 8th at the beginning of 'Minor Poems' and the 9th at the beginning of 'The Rose'. The gatherings of 'The task' , [A]-P, are followed by those of 'Minor Poems' and 'The Rose', [A]-G, suggest this is two texts bound together. 'Minor poems' pp. iii-iv are an advertisement and pp. v-vi are the contents page,including 'The Rose' and other poems||(PRV) Contains the bookplate of Montagu Knight, previous Knight Family shelfmark, A.10.3, and the verso of the first leaf is inscribed: 'Adela Portal, from her affectionate brother, Melville. April 7th, 1830.' Adela Portal was Montagu G. Knight's mother||(BIN) Bound in green leather with gilt; the spine has red leather labels and embossed with gilt||(CIP) Published 1825.
