Description
(GEN) With the contemporary inscriptions on the verso of the title page, ëTho Bailey, Notting,í and ëJane Bailey, the gift of her Fatherí. Also with the ownership inscription of Thomas Bailey, Nottinghamshire topographer and poet, author of a number of works including, A Sermon on the Death of Byron and The Rights of Labour. Thomas Baileyís son, Philip James Bailey, wrote the rather better known poem, ëFestusí.||(CON) [A]4, B-I12, K11, Contents.||(REF) This first edition appears to be unrecorded. The British Library has an 1811 reprint, which is attributed by BMC to ìMiss More, Teacher of Classicsí; ESTC lists a 1792 edition at Birmingham only; NUC locates a copy at Univ. Florida;||(BIN) Original cloth-backed boards, printed paper label.
