Description
(ABS) Journal of a privileged young woman, comprising detailed lists of her reading and an account of daily life, particularly many excursions and visits, including travel between family homes at Bradley (Devon) and Park Lane (London). Lady Charlotte Jane St. Maur [Seymour] (1803-1889), was the eldest child of Edward St. Maur, 11th duke of Somerset. She became a member of the household of Victoria, duchess of Kent, mother to the future Queen Victoria, and in 1839 married William Blount of Orleton, Herefordshire.||(HOL) The St. Maur archive also includes letters, accession no. 10829 and accession no. 10830, and two engravings of Princess Victoria.||(BIN) Unruled stationer's book with a green leather half-binding and green marbled paper boards.||(ACC) Boxed with bookseller's notes.||(OWN) On loan S.L.
